A day off...

We took a day off...  when the King goes hunting.. I go with my camera and a book.. and yesterday was no different..    But this time he was not hunting for 4 legged critters.. he was hunting for mushrooms.. He got only 4..  so far this year.. the pickings are slim..  But the huckleberry look like it might be a bummer year.. Huckleberry, for those on the east coast.. is a blueberry like berry, but better tasting.

So here is what the camera picked up..

this is the burnt area from last years wildfire... see the burnt tree that was growing around and over the large rock?

this is a fir tree.. but I found it unusual.. as it was a deep green thru out, but on the tips were a neon like color of light green

wild strawberries...

some one with a short frame... .like a 4x4 turn around here before we got there.. we turn around shortly after..    we were about 20 miles of the roughest road ever up...

the crooks of the trees... weird how they grow like that

the King coming down ... slowly...  from where he thought he might find something.. he did hear elk crashing thru the woods ,   he thinks he spooked them..

the creeks were running fast and furious down hill

this is Pack River.. where Trout creek empties out and they both empty out to the Lake Pend Orielle

this is called Bear Grass... don't know why?

deep into the woods it is dark and there is a lot of trees that have fallen.. which is surprising as they are so close together
