I weaken

I weaken

It is only the 28th of June.. but I weaken..   only two days of over 85 and I weaken

See I have a policy of putting the air conditioners in the windows a day after 4th of July…  But I weaken..

The King has been after me for the past two day.. and I told him we could hold out for the 5th..   But that is a week away..

We have been working out in the yard doing details.. He has been putting in the electric plug ins back in the outside walls. Also the redid the wire to the TV antenna to protect it better…

I was clipping off dead areas off of the roses that we had bent over.. I could see dead head better so clipped them before I straighten them back up, now that the side is done.   I got down on my knees and pulled tiny weeds out of the red brick we have between the deck and the hot tub room..  Clean up the area where the flowers got squashed down from metal going up..

So we have been pretty busy today and yesterday..

But with the arrival of 85  Sunday and 94 on Monday and today is suppose to get up to 85 again..    I…. WEAKEN..

A day off...

We took a day off...  when the King goes hunting.. I go with my camera and a book.. and yesterday was no different..    But this time he was not hunting for 4 legged critters.. he was hunting for mushrooms.. He got only 4..  so far this year.. the pickings are slim..  But the huckleberry look like it might be a bummer year.. Huckleberry, for those on the east coast.. is a blueberry like berry, but better tasting.

So here is what the camera picked up..

this is the burnt area from last years wildfire... see the burnt tree that was growing around and over the large rock?

this is a fir tree.. but I found it unusual.. as it was a deep green thru out, but on the tips were a neon like color of light green

wild strawberries...

some one with a short frame... .like a 4x4 turn around here before we got there.. we turn around shortly after..    we were about 20 miles of the roughest road ever up...

the crooks of the trees... weird how they grow like that

the King coming down ... slowly...  from where he thought he might find something.. he did hear elk crashing thru the woods ,   he thinks he spooked them..

the creeks were running fast and furious down hill

this is Pack River.. where Trout creek empties out and they both empty out to the Lake Pend Orielle

this is called Bear Grass... don't know why?

deep into the woods it is dark and there is a lot of trees that have fallen.. which is surprising as they are so close together

UPDATING....

What I have found out is...  construction is a slow process..  Being a person who wants to get things done asap... to take on this project..  I have had to tone down....ME...  I finally found a place for me.. to mellow out..  lol..   like most things.. it is the devil is in the details.. AND DETAILS WE HAVE..  it is called the trim.  The trim around the windows.. the trim at the top of the wall.. the trim around each hole..  meaning for the vents and lights and etc.. So here we go again..  the pictures that I hope says a thousand words.. because this is all I have for today..

And most of all.. a huge THANK YOU to our contractor grandson, Mike......  we could not have done it without you..

Here is one of the details..  the light had to be removed..  a hole to allow for it in the metal.. and then rewiring back to fit the fixture back on to the wall.

Kind of hard to see, but there is trim up the top by the wall and soffit...  and around the window frame.

this is the finish product... of the front porch.

This is the back finished.. the deck and back wall...

of course the project is not a good project unless you have your sidewalk supervisors.. no chairs this time.

And  to show you that it is not easy.. we have grandson up top putting in the sheet of metal.. with the King down on the ground under the porch ... guiding the sheet to it's proper place

next week.. hopefully the driveway side and then the front.
