British for the Day….

British for the Day….

I think just about all of the USA viewers felt a little bit of British yesterday…  Watching the process of the country of England give their Queen a farewell.   Over the weekend people stood in line for up to 17 hours..  I truly can’t think of any American, who would stand in line for 17 hours to wait to see the casket  for 3 seconds ..of someone here in this country.  Not a rock star, not congress person.. SURELY not a President..  Although there were thousand who stood by the road side to watch the train carry Lincoln and FDR…   It is one thing to go and wait at a railroad track for maybe 2 hours while you wait for the train go by..  but it another to wait in a town… on the sidewalk moving slowly… very slowly… to see anyone. Not any American..  here…  Some did in England I guess.

I did not get up a 3am. To watch the procession.   As they said it would be 6am EST.. making it 3am here.   I did see some of it at 7am.. which means it was over by the time I got up and being rebroadcasted.   With the thousand that waited in line to go into see the casket.. there were probably just as many along the possessions trip from the palace to the church and beyond.

She was a good queen.. while family members did make the head lines…  Prince Andrew… and even Charles when he was seeing his future wife while still married to his first wife.. who was dearly loved by the public.  But I do not know of anything she did that was out of order.   If you got to see some of the personal pictures and videos of her life as a horse woman… driving cars. hunting.  and her dogs ..  all of which was her passion.   Also saw where she was a mechanic of sorts during WWII.  She was no light weight.   She held her head high.. never bring dishonor to her country.

So to my British friends.. I send my regards to the lost of your QUEEN… she lead a wonderful proud life.  She served the country well.. and now for her rest, with her husband and parents and sister.   God Bless……   AND GOD SAVE THE KING.. KING CHARLES..   his mother raised the bar high.. and hopefully he does too.
