THANK GOD AND GREYHOUND THIS MONTH IS ALMOST OVER.

THANK GOD AND GREYHOUND THIS MONTH IS ALMOST OVER..

This has been a hellish month for us…
Not only have we been doing what every one with common sense has been doing… staying home as much as possible… doing stores runs only… and during the senior citizens times..

But also the lost of Misty… and HUGE part of our hearts and lives. We knew it would be rough someday when we had to let her go.. but never in our wildest dreams did we think it would be this bad.  First because it was so quick… one minute she is running in the yard.. and with 20 minutes  later she is dragging her back half and her bowels and etc. were uncontrollable…  And we had to make a decision quickly, as we both agreed a while back, we would never let her suffer, just to we could have her around.

But I also think of all of the people out there losing their family members and not be able to be with them..  at least we got to hold Misty as she went… a luxury that humans have not let happen for the past month or two..  Not even have a decent funeral…  My heart goes out so much for them..  We have a friend, whose mother is failing.. she and her sister are making the decision to have their 94 year old mother who lives alone,  taken to a hospital..  Knowing full well.. they may never see her alive again.  My friend lives in Idaho….her mother in Montana.
I can’t even imagine how hard that is..

So I say prayers for all of those people.. my friend as well as her family and the rest of the world..
And as of late.. I have kept my sanity by keeping busy… doing more painting of yard art… and weeding….

Oh, God, please find a way to end all of this madness… The sickness, the lies, the rumors, the false information…that flies as truth.

GOOD BY APRIL..  HELLO MAY….. may you be gentler to us all.

Howie Mandel, Muslin woman and…

Howie Mandel, Muslin woman  and…

Disclaimer: this is all in good humor..  it is a joke folks.
Don’t want to get hate email…or comments below..

Maybe they had it all right in the first place…

We know what a germ phobic person Howie Mandel, is..  knuckle knocks, or elbows… never a hand shake…

Then we have the Muslin women who dress in burqa.
Burqa is an outer garment that covers the whole body from the top of the head to the feet. The entire face is covered including the eyes with a mesh screen to see through. It is worn as a usual daily clothing by Muslim women in some Islamic cultures when going out in public and removed after returning home. It is the most concealing of all Muslim veils. Burqas are commonly associated with the Afghan chadris. They come in many different colors.   Although.. it seems the main color is black…

But think of it ladies..  you wouldn’t have to have your hair perm and hairdressers. You wouldn’t have to have tight clothes… you could wear what ever you wanted under it. .. pj if you wanted.. who is going to know?   And look at that hood.. only your eyes show.. so surely this should be great for during virus season…
Maybe they are on to something…   ok, so I am bored and this is the best I could come up with…  haha..

We are broken….

We are broken….

 We are still   broken..
Yesterday, we had to make a decision we knew was coming someday.. WE DID NOT WANT IT YESTERDAY..  Over the years I have written and showed pictures of our sweet four legged child.
She would have turn 15 in August…  In such a sudden move.. she was mobile and then she wasn’t ..her lower half went completely out. She went from being outside with me.. running around the yard.. to being the kitchen begging for scraps.  Me giving her the pan with piece of chicken stuck to the pan..  To coming into get on the couch with me.. But not climbing up the stairs as usual.. but looking at me and me getting she didn’t want to use the stair.. as she has had trouble getting up them lately… So I raised her up on to the couch..
She snuggled in as always.. and then she peed… So not like Misty.. never in the house.. never mind on the furniture…  I picked her up and took her outside to go to the bathroom.. telling her it was ok. I wasn’t mad at her.. She walked down the ramp, kind of limping.. so I am watching her go across the patio to the grass.. As she starts to head back to the ramp, I see now she is dragging her one leg.. pulling with her front and trying to help with the other rear leg.  I ran to the ramp that she was trying to get up..  I pick her up.. took her in the house.. and sat her down to watch her drag herself again.. Picking up her once again, put her on the couch.. feeling her legs up and down. No broken bones…. She doesn’t cry out, like in pain… I did range of motion on her.. no crying out, just looking at me in annoyance.  Once again.. I put her on the floor.. held her up so she could stand on her legs..  NOTHING… so put her back on the couch.. and waited for the King, as he had gone to the store..
I broke the news to the King as he sat on the couch with Misty and I. Then I put her on the floor again so he could see.. she dragged herself over to the living room to our tears.. and turn around .. looking at us.. seemingly happy, then sadness broke on her face as she peed across the dining room floor.  She never pees in the house. She did years ago. When she was a pup, and always looked embarrassed when she did. So when she was potty train. She never did it again.
I looked at the King.. tears are coming down his face… He said I can’t let her be like this..  I told him we could use a diaper and carry her, if he couldn’t let go…  He said, no, I can’t watch her suffer like this.. And he cried.   So he called the vet, they told him to bring her in after he gave them the rundown of what was going on..
We went straight in.. they looked at her.. and they agreed to what we thought..  And the kindness of kind was to let her go.  So we held her in our arms together.. as she got her first shot.. and then the second shot… when we thought she was gone, we bawled.. but somewhere she got a last minute bit ..like she didn’t want to go either… Then they gave her a second shot..  and she passed. We bawled. The Vet cried. The vet assistance cried…

We got home.. and bawled.. by ourselves and then together.. Wailing ugly bawling… from me..  sobbing crying from the King…  you see,
She was our mornings.. getting up to kisses... she was our day as she romped about the yard... she was our nights as she laid between us...
So seeing the empty couch… seeing her ramp and dishes, hearing no one bark to go outside..  and worse yet.. getting into bed, and no one between the two of us..hogging the covers.. It was hard to go to sleep.. I cried in my pillow…  I heard the King crying in his.. as he snuggled up to me and held me..  Oh, GOD this hurts..

Today, it was dismantling the ramp to the deck.. removing the stairs to the couch and chair..  removing the toys, the shampoos and etc. to give to others.. and some was thrown away.. Giving her travel bag that she would go nuts when she saw it on the floor, knowing we were heading out to a trip… and she knew she got to come to..
No more barks to tell us it is time to go get the mail.  …Oh, GOD this hurts..
it is still hard.. but know that we will be ok... to use the words that I have used a lot lately... THIS TOO SHALL PASS.. here are some pictures of our baby..

She loved to wrestle on the floor with Ken

As soon as she heard the 4 wheeler start up.. she wanted outside and on it..

This is her other wrestling buddy..  she would growl at him but loved it..

she loved being with Ken.. even enough to endure the winter sweater

She and Rokon loved to play together..
Ken even snowblowed a path for her to run in the winter and go potty

EVERY TIME.. she head the tune for the ice cream truck.. she would cry .. even when she heard it before us..  lol  and the ice cream lady loved her.. Thank you Abbey

Once she got use to the sweater she didn't mind it so much

AH, dad's cookies..

checking out to see if the coast is clearLet me check out the area first to see if I will get yelled at..

OH. how she HATED this sweater in the beginning
waiting to see if Dad had drove up from work yet..

COLD OUT.. so she would pull a blanket over her and sometimes we wouldn't even see her in it
ONE FINE SUMMER DAY.. when she was young...
looking to see if she could get any hand outs...
ROKON was her best buddy from the beginning.. I think we had her about a month..at this time.
my daughter made her a Christmas outfit.. she was not amused
She would snuggle right in under the covers

When I dumped the wash out to fold it.. she would get in the middle of it and sleep..
She and Rokon.. passing a snowy day togeher..   Rokon passed away 2 years ago..

AND THE FAMOUS VIDEO..... no greater love has a man, except for his dog..
who so totally loved him..

Thoughts from a cooped up woman…

Thoughts from a cooped up woman….

As one is on her knees scrubbing the floor, or standing on a stool,
trying to reach the things above the cabinets.. Things seem to pop up in one’s mind…as it wanders in and out…

I remember when men would go to Washington D.C. to make a difference for their state’s citizens.. But somewhere along the road, they changed from making things better for America… to what is better for themselves. Some tried but after they saw it was no longer possible, they quit and went home.  Sadly for all of us… as there doesn’t seem like any who use common sense for the common man, is left to try. Some that have tried, have gotten destroyed by lies and slander and dirty politics..  Like the Bush group, passing stories of the illegitimate daughter of John McCain, who was really a daughter he adopted…  Even Ross Perot was slammed in such story telling about someone in his family.   Will there ever really be a honest person who will go to Congress and want to do good for his home state citizen or is it beyond hope?

In our effort to educate, do we try to make all students the same?  Or do we forget to give them the right to think differently .. outside of the box so to speak.  For them to think, to imagine, beyond the every day class.  To think of, to imagine what can be? For it was the imagination that has lead to inventions of the many things we have.  After all with out imagination, we would not have the machinery that is used to do the production in factories..  When I see a program called how do they make that.. I marv at the machinery that does the whole process.. who thought of that. Who thought of machinery that moves the bottle or part along the line, and puts labels on them.. or cuts out a part, or washes the fruit and adds the right amount of sugar or what ever else goes it to it?   Where would any of that come from, if it wasn’t for some one imagining how to do that?

And I leave you with the thought … of music.  No time has music seem so important as it does during these days.  Be it gospel, jazz, rock and roll.. what ever that raises your hopes and feelings. The first I noticed, was on the news when they showed the Italians coming out on their porches in the many buildings that were 4 or 5 stories tall.. Some came and sang, some came and played guitar to be joined by a drummer…  Some just sang… Raising the hope of all those neighbors who stepped out on to their porch areas.. Giving hope, raising the spirits of others…  How many people have been on their computers and went to YouTube to hear some kind of music.. A favor song, a favor singer of now or even the past… Music is good for the soul…   May you find some music in your life.. as you endure these times…Play a cd.. or record if you have them.. and album of your favorite music…  God Bless….

What are you doing with your time?

April 14, 2020
What are you doing with your time?

Well, as I wait for the server tech to come out Monday… to check my dish to see why it is so sloooooooooooooooooooww… I have been working out in the sun … as we have SUNSHINE.. Oh, God, I miss that..  So on Wed, Thurs and Friday last week, I worked on different projects..  Painting old and new yard art.

I had for years, two pieces that are of a girl and a boy with their hands holding a jar with a lightening bug(or fire bug as we called them) in it.  Do you remember those. I am from the East coast so they were every where .. in the summer time..  We kids use to capture them and hold them in our closed hands..  Some did put them in jars like the kids in the sculptures…  Anyway I had one set for about 10 years…. And last year they both hit the dust.. they stop working and the legs cracked.  I ended up throwing the girl away.. but the boy only lost part of one leg. After looking all over for replacements, I decided to work on the boy. I filled his leg in with foam.. after it dried.. I sanded it down so it was fairly flat.. but it look like his leg had been burnt.  I then painted him.. and use a flesh color for him.. and on his leg.. Looking like a scar from a burn, I left it rather than smooth it out.
THEN I spotted them in LAKESIDE COLLECTION.. catalog…  And order both right away before they disappeared.  I was so happy when they arrived and placed them out on the deck. And sure enough that night and ever since,  they have lit up…
With so much time on my hands.. and seeing them with the old one, I felt bad they were totally grey.. and he was painted… So I decided to paint them as well..  I looked at them and thought about making the new ones like brother and sister…but as I was painting the boy, I thought no… I will have them all different.  And I did them both,   And now I call them the CHILDREN OF THE WORLD…  I really like them..  I see now that they are dry, I need to do some touch up on them…and of course the old one doesn’t light up.. bummer but they are still good.

Then I noticed my Portuguese woman, who I call Isabella… was worse for weather wear.. So got out the paints again and painted her fresh.. keeping the colors she had.

It took quite a bit as my brushes are small..  She looks a lot better now..  Then I saw my angels.  They are all cement color grey,  it was getting cold.  So will save them for another day.. they have a blue bird in their lap.. I am not a painter.. As my teacher told my mother over 70 years ago.. Cis does not color in the lines.lol..  As hard as I try, it still has some of the other paint that gets on the previous painted area… So I usually end up going and finish them and then going back and touch up the trouble spots..   They are kind of like Monet paintings. The further the way from them you are .. the better they look..   ha ha..

Killing Time...

April 8, 2020

KILLING TIME….

For me it is double.. killing time.. One is I have to wait until next Monday (the 13th) for a tech to come look at my dish that is up on the outside wall that controls if I get internet or not..    And right now, I am getting damn little..  I can look at my email.. and send out one occasional…  But no Facebook, and no blog posting area…

And like everyone else, we are waiting .. waiting until we can live our lives as close to normal again.. Or will it never be normal again.

I don’t understand the shutting down the business and etc.. like they have done.  I have lived thru a few disasters of life.. And never ever experience this before..  I live thru the polio sage, the Aids sage, and of course every year there is the flu of one kind or another.  All of which have killed many people.. millions..  Millions got it and some lived.  All of which had many deaths.. far more than any that has happen with this virus.. Yet no one decided to shut down the whole country with a few exception…  I get it.. People are dying.. and that is hell. Hell for them and even more for their families.    But when you put it in the perspective of others who die daily…  and we have never shut down the country… I just don’t get it.

Even with so many people following orders.. stay home.. wash your hands… don’t go with there is a crowd..  stay at least 6 feet away from people.. if you do have to go somewhere… All of these are followed by the ones with common sense and follow orders..  Yet.. it has not stop the virus.. people are still dying..

Some times I wonder, if the people who are dying.. ARE THEY ALL, dead because of the virus, or is it just easier to blame the virus?  Meaning the person had a bad heart, and they got the flu.. and they died.. are they calling it the virus..

I am not insensitive to those who have lost their love one.. any more than I am sensitive the people who have family or friends who commit sucide, or car accidents..  dead is dead.. and it is HORRIBLE.

But is shutting down the whole country slowing it down? Is it working?  So far I haven’t see any different…  And the worse is yet to come.. because who do you think is going to pay for all of this?  You and I… the tax payer.. NOTHING IS FREE..

Ah, April .. so good to see you…

Ah, April .. so good to see you…

I didn’t do a post yesterday, with it being April 1st.. I think the virus has done us in for jokes on each other…

So what projects have you come up with for your time in the house?  I got some old yard art, so I have been working on that..  I took the Zebra out on a newspaper and painted it.. it started to rain half way thru.. Decided, oh, well..  can’t harm it.. so I finish the white paint on it… and it did dry well later..  Then the next day I put in the black lines.. came out pretty good..  Yesterday, I did duck..  They were in rough shape.. I sanded them down last week.. and yesterday took them outside and painted the yellow back on.  Hours later when they were dry, I painted on the orange beaks and feet.. The paint was horrible. It either put in streaks, or when I used more paint.. it started to lump… Did the best I could.. and this morning they don’t look bad at all..  So they are going to be heading into the flower bed garden, that looks bare right now..   Next up is the raccoons.. They won’t be as bad .. just need to touch up the eyes and feet.  After that is the wolf and babies.. that will involve more.

The rest of the time.. it has been games..  Yahtzee as I mention before… until I could feel the rattle in my brain from the dice.  Ha ha..  Then I decided to get another game out we had not played  for a while.. called Pegs and Jokers.. It is not as much fun with 2, but doable..I could hold my own on that one.. For those not familiar with the game, it is very much like Sorry that we played as kids… just a few rule changes.. little more vicious. After a couple days of that.. I found a game I had bought at a yard sale..  It is Sandpoint Monopoly, just like the one we played as kids, except is all businesses in the town of Sandpoint, Idaho, which is just 2 miles away from us.   Well, the King took off on that.. he was like Trump on steroids.  Along with the laughter of joy, as he bought everything he landed on and started to charge rent.  I was not landing on that much of the buy able ones.. and if I did I got the small cheap ones… Then he started putting on houses.. Now my money is started to get less and less.. as I got sent several times to the animal shelter (equal to going to Jail) go directly to .. and no money as you pass Go..  So no $200…while he is getting the payable chances… for winning a beauty contest.. and etc.. Well, you see the pattern..  Then he went to hotels..  And trying to buy what I had.. NO WAY… did offer to given him one, that he had two for… IF I GOT FREE RENT…Oh, no no… I told him I needed one safe corner as he was gathering the rest.. NOPE, NO WAY.. So it was NOPE NO way to his offers.. I ended up mortgaging a lot of my property…to pay his hotels rent..  Finally mortgage the one he wanted… but .. then I was broke and the END OF THE GAME.. YAHOO… He sat there like a mad man.. counting all of his money… ha ha.. But you should have seen his face when he was on the phone telling his brother about his money and the game…..and I SAID…… I GAVE THE GAME TO GOODWILL… ha-ha.. oh it was precious.. HA-HA and no I didn’t.  SO HELLO APRIL.. please oh please bring me warm weather so I can go outside.
