We are all home now......and it seems to be a dream

Each of us is home now... recouping... sleeping in.... catching up
with our lives.... and wondering.. was it just a dream? No, it wasn't
but it was unbelieveable....

IT WAS WONDERFUL... and here is the crew that made it...half of
the kids...and two grandchildren.

Gone but hopefully not forgotten....

Those of you who read my blog, know that
I am leaving this Wed. So I am putting the
Blog on hold for 2 weeks.. or there abouts.
I should be back here about March 1st.

I might put up some pictures… and if I take
my laptop with me, I might post some pictures
from Hawaii…. But for the most part, I am leaving
all the stuff behind…. Couple shorts and tops and
my camera. Been packed for a week. Carry-on has
been packed for a couple of days.

Misty is going to have a 10 day play date with a
friend. And all should be good.

So you all be good while I am away. You bloggers
keep up the good work and I will read you when I
get home… Those who go to the Blogfest in Cda,
have a good time… and I won’t lie…I won’t be thinking
pf you all.. lol… with all the kids and grandkids, I think
I will be a little busy.

Also hoping I will come back refreshed… and able to think
about blogging again.. as I will be deciding by March 5…
Is 5 years enough or do I have more left in me.

Men being held hostage....

Every year at this time of the year,
Men are held hostage..
What are you going to do to prove
your love for me, Question.
is it candy, cards, maybe dinner or
are you required to buy a gift too?

Why is this? Seems like a commercial
reason to me… after all if you have to
buy a gift then you are not getting it.

It is about love… it is something you
should be doing every day. I guess I
can understand a card, flowers, candy
for a guy who is courting (don’t know what
the new word for that is) and needs to
make points. And as we use to say, he
is to new to the relationship for gifts.

But husbands, long time lovers, sorry,
I feel for you. You are there every day,
All year long, and if you are doing it right,
your gal knows you love her. So a nice
card and flowers are all you need..but
you shouldn’t be doing because a commercial
says you should. You should have been
doing it when you thought about it.

There is little to no pressure but on the women.
She mainly gives a gift or what ever, because
she feels if she is going to get something, she
better be nice and give something.

See in our house, I Love You Day, is everyday.
I get flowers for no reason. Just because he saw
them and he thought I would like them. Or he saw
I was having a rough day and he wanted to make
me smile.. I flat out refuse to have him be robbed
at this time of the year. Dozen roses can be had for
$9.00 (some times less) but at this time they are $30
and up.

So to you all… on Sunday…. HAPPY” I LOVE YOU” DAY!!
May it be enjoyable, then practice it everyday.

Keeping on Target

I am having a heck of time to keep my mind
On target… see the countdown is now 7 days.

7days from now, we will be on the road.
Oh, please weather, hold like you are…
And then 8 days from today, we will be
up in the air… Meaning all of us… for
6 hours.. (note to self..bring books).
And at the end of the day, we will be in
70+ weather… SUNSHINE…

So it is hard for me to stay in the old routine.
And my blogging is going to Hades in a hand
basket. Also I have my 5th anniversary coming
up in March. And the decision of, do I want to
continue on.

So here I sit, looking out at the overcast day of
38 degrees, dreaming of looking out the open
windows to see the ocean and feel the sunshine.
No wonder I am not on target…
I have to go and make a list of what not to forget.

Butter or not.....

Well, I gave it a fair shake. I did
use Butter for a week.

I used it on bread, on toast,
and on vegetables, and even
cooked with it.

Sorry, butter eaters, but I just can’t
get it…I have used almost half of the
tub of whipped butter, trying it on different
foods… but it still taste sweet lardy.

Margarine wins hands down.
for taste, for spreadable, butter still
was hard out of the refrigerator.

And as I reported last week, on the
Charts on each item, the margarine
fair much better, far healthier choice.
Less fat, less calories and etc.

So it is back to margarine for us..and
The King agrees. Actually he quit a
day or two after we decided to give
Butter a chance.

The Best Government that Money Can Buy

With opening the doors to Corporations being able
to give campaign money, I can’t see any good of this.

How did the court find that this was a stifle of freedom
of speech? I don’t get that… this was not talking that
they would be liberating…but money. There wasn’t
anything saying they couldn’t talk and have done so.

But what I do see is triple play here. Now they have a
third voice. The first one is the people who work for
those corporations/unions have the right to vote as
they see. (and sometimes those corporations will
lean on those employees). And sometimes there are
unions with in a corporation, so there is a double deal
right there… The second voice they have is thru the
lobbyist. And now third, they will have an opportunity to
throw money at any candidate or cause they want.

What I find disturbing about this is… the money will flow
even more across state lines. New York corporations who
want a say in Idaho or Iowa or where ever. Bring in Senators
of their choices in other states to have laws taken away or
put in service for their benefits.

I do not view this as a good thing… and for the life of me
I don’t understand how the courts thought it would be.

Blogging Time, Announcements, and Sarah

I have my blog comments connected to my email. So if some
one comments on my blog, it goes into my email. Even if
they comment on an old post. Which happen today.
There was one from a year or so ago. So I went to read
my post to see what it was about it, and how it connected
to her comment. The weird thing is when I go back to an
old post, especially if it is one that is years ago, I am
surprised that I wrote it. I know I did, but it is still a
surprise that I did. I wonder if other bloggers have the
same reaction. It is like I wrote it and then detached from
it.

How many people find it odd that they are still running
the June 17,2009 announcement about the coming of
digital tv. And to call if you have questions. What I find
odd about it is..... if you can read that .. then you must
have either a digital tv or you have the converter. Other
wise you couldn't read it to get the information they want
you to call about.

And yesterday was a reminder of how the name of
Palin still pulls at people. On Facebook, a person
put in his status, the question of ........
Am I the only who's teeth grind when they hear Sarah Palin speak?
The fact that this woman could possibly hold a major public office one day makes me cringe
.
Thru the night it pulled over 79 comments (unusual for
Facebook comments unless it is a commerical site)of
both sides. With the Sarah lovers a little
more heated, and the others bewildered by
their thoughts.
Seems like Sarah is the Liberace of the politics.
What was the saying? He laughed all the way to
the bank? Same can be said of Sarah.

Throwing money at it.....

Why is it we start throwing money at
these problems? I understand why we
send supplies. But money? And even
if we are sending money to Red Cross,
(I still don't trust them) ... why do we
send money to Haiti or Louisiana after
a while? We just throw the money at it.
And by the way, how come the Bushes
both of them, and Clinton are drumming
up money? Where is theirs? They can
afford it a lot better than we can.

Now there are stories coming out of Haiti
about government and UN stockpiling
the supplies, and waiting? Waiting for
what? Also stories of black-marketing.

The little boy who sends his piggy bank
money, the kids who do car washes, the
people who are standing in the middle of
the road with boots asking for money for
for Haiti, aren't doing this for the officials
to stockpile.

As much as I hate to say maybe Rush is
right. (I think I am getting sick to my stomach)
but maybe we should not be sending money
to Haiti but to the hospitals here who are
sending over Drs. Give them the money to
buy the supplies to take with them.

Some Quotes...that sadden me...

Some quotes... that sadden me.....
Let them eat cake..
Said about the poor of Ireland I believe, if history serves me right..

S. C. Lt Gov running for Gov. quoted his grandmother who he said...
told him not to feed the stray animals
"You know why, because they breed.
You're facilitating the problem if you give an animal or person ample food supply.
They will reproduce, especially ones that don't think too much further than that.
So what you' be got to do is, you have got to curtain that type of behavior.
They don't know any better... "
He repeated this recently... and he wants to be Governor. God, help the people of S.C.

In this day and age, you wouldn't think people still think this way... We have come a long
way, but not far enough. I don't care which party you are.. it is true on both sides.

I read this in Leonard Pitts Jr.'s column... which he ended with,
"One hopes Andre Bauer's words will provide a wakeup call..
in South Carolina and elsewhere..for people who have been down too long
and fooled too often, that it will encourage them to organize their votes, raise
their voices, push their issues into the public discourse.
In America, one is invisible and powerless only so long as one choose to be..
And the Bauer's of the world need to know... sometimes stray animals bite.

This all reminds me of the saying of WWII ...
.
First the Nazis came for the Communists; and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews; and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew.
When they came for the trade unionists I didn’t speak up, because I wasn’t a trade unionist.
And when they came for the Catholics I didn’t speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me... and by that time there was no one left to speak for anyone.Attributed to Pastor Martin Niemoeller

As Long as you have a mother....

AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A MOTHER..... you will always be a kid..
My mother send me a graffiti cartoon with this on it. I was about
40 years old at the time.

My first reaction was, yeah, right.
But the more I thought about it,
it is true.

Think about it. No matter how old you are, your mother
still thinks of you as a kid. Even if she doesn't say so.
And she still can push the buttons, like she did when
you were a kid. At least mine could.

Now that I am on the top side of this. Top side? Meaning
the mother and old... do I treat my kids (opps, I guess I
think that way)... like kids. I sure hope not. I think I would
be a little hurt if they thought of me like that. As I don't try
to make them feel that way. In fact thru years, I have slipped
up and did the deed... but then went back and apologized,
and told the child, that I was wrong... it is their life to do what
they want to do with it. They are adults now.

And actually they have done very well with it. Every time I have
mentally second guess them, they have pulled thru quite well,
without my help. That is one of the reasons why I am so
proud of them.
