past 4 years it has shrank every two
years. As you can see from the first
picture we had a large one, for us. As
it reached from where you see the wheelbarrow
on the right, to the fence on the left and back to the alley.
The second picture you can see our new raised
gardens. The last two years, the garden was the
same size as the dirt area that is around the
new ones. Half of the old one.

The third picture is the onions and unseen is the
potatoes, carrots and beets. We still have a lot
to go yet. As we have to wait for warmer weather.
Behind the garden we are putting sunflowers, near
the fence.
And we have decided to give the upside down tomatoes
a try as well. Guess a lot of people up here are trying them, as we
had to wait for the third shipment at Home Depot to get them.
Selling at $9.95. You don't get the plant itself, just the unit
to put it in. So you can still put in the tomatoes of your choice.
I saw on Good Morning American, that you can also do it with
the standard metal frame pot that has coconut shreds in it.
Just poke a hole in the bottom of the coconut shred, put the
root up into it from the bottom, and then hold it as you fill
the pot full of dirt. Pack it well, so the plant doesn't fall out.
And there you are. By the way, for those local, Merwin is
selling those pots for $4.95 this week.

Wow love your raised beds......its funny how different out languages are..... a garden here is all that emcompasses within your fence or boundary.... the flower beds the lawn the area kids play and even where ya grow veggies.... but this is also usually known as ones veggie plot...... so when I say me back garden, Im actually talking about the lot not just the bit where flowers or veggies grow.....
Jacob is actually out there now cutting me littlw lawn with our new mower I had to buy yesterday, and Im gagging to do me hanging baskets but I know in me heart of hearts its a little early....
