Those of
you who have read this blog for years.. know how I feel for the day called
Valentine’s Day.
It started
out as a nice time of cards to tell someone how much you love them… Then
somewhere.. it turn into that guilty circus of over commercialized day.. Buy jewelry, diamonds in particular. Or
furs, and other expensive stuff… And FLOWERS.. OH MY GOSH.. Have you seen the prices.. You can buy a dozen of roses all year long
for $9.99 to $12.99 depending on which store..
But come Valentine’s day.. they start at $39.99 to as much as
$69.99. And why is it one sided? Why is
it up to the man to do all the buying and work?
You really
want your love one to know you love them
? Then tell them every day.. you never know when your last day will be.. How about writing your own card.. make one
out of any color paper and fold it over..
draw something on the front.. .. and inside tell them how you feel. What is it about them that make them special
to you. And then you can make a dinner
together… both of you working on it. One can make the salad and vegetables and
the other cook the meat. That will be
more important than any commercialized items..
Valentine’s
day should be every day in your house hold..
Hugs, a little squeeze as you walk by.. whisper of I love you.. Some times, just standing there and hold each
other..
That is my
humble opinion.. Love should not have a
price on it.
