The Race is on...and...

The race is on and heartburn at the center…

The candidates of all.. be it presidential or our local

Commissioners, and such…

And the heartburn is felt by the voters…

 

The time is running out so the nastiness is getting

thick and wild. Why the Presidential committee

people’s words are even given the time of day is beyond

me. We aren’t voting for them.. but I guess it does show

who the candidates are surrounded by… and from my

guess.. it is the ship of fools.  Time after time, they seem

to put their foot in their mouths… the candidates would

do well to put tape across their committee people’s mouths.

 

But the letter to the editors is starting to make our skin thin

(no pun intended) paper thicker with nasty

remarks from each side.. be they voters or friends of the candidates.

 

Why is it.. and I am talking about all of these elections, and all

of the people involved and the letter writers to the paper… why is

it they can’t just state facts without character assassins?  Even when

people talk to each other, I notice that when one feels like they are

losing the battle, the zings come in and the voices get louder.

 

Wouldn’t it be wonderful, if they would just say, this is what the fact is.

This is how I see that fact, what I like or don’t like about that fact,or idea

 that your guy has… What a wonderful campaign that would be.

 

But each year gets worse than the other, and the bar is lowered time

after time… and that folks is the reason why this year.. I am out.

Yes, I will vote..but talk about it to friends.. not a chance.. post my

thoughts on any one candidate, on my blog.. not a chance.. Watch

it on television.. the talks shows about it.. nada…. And I have been

so much happier this summer and fall.  And those of you who do watch

it all, talk about it.. how is that working out for you?  Hope well.

I just don’t need it, don’t need to raise my blood pressure and etc.

they eat their own, don't they....

Rep. Todd Akin, from Missouri, made some pretty ignorant,
stupid, insulting remarks about women and rape.
So now everyone wants him to resign.
To take his name off of the ballot. NOW.. and most of them are from the
Republican party.
They say they won't stand behind him (meaning they won't
give him any running money). I guess they want him to drop out now so his
name won't be on the ballot come November. I guess that would mean they
would come up with some one else to rush in there.. Hoping that person would
beat the Democrat that is also running. Figuring Akin, sank the Republican
boat for that seat in Congress.

He has apologized over and over to all who will hear. Says he is sorry,
he chose the wrong words, he didn't mean what
he said.. he is sorry... he is so sorry... but all
it seems to be on deaf ears.

As much as what the man said.. disgust me... I got
to ask.. if we were to denounce and get rid of any congress person, who
said something stupid... something insulting... because of ignorance.............
there would not be many people in congress at all..... and
that includes both sides of the aisle.

So what should they do? I don't know...but I
suggest the biblical saying..
He of no sin, cast the first stone...

I am going to draft up a email to my friends.. my highly
political friends.. and some of them will be so mad, they
probably won't want to be my friend anymore. Already had one before
the2008 election tell me if I was voting for Obama, that I
needed to stay home and not vote at all.. I had no right to vote.
After knowing this woman for about 10 years, I guess I
had to admit, I didn't know her at all, and she sure didn't know
me. We haven't talked or email since. Sad..

But I have had it. We haven't even gotten into the election real
serious yet.. and already I am getting hateful emails. Some of
them, the person sending me, didn't even research it to see if it was
lies. I am tired of being the researcher for other who want to send
hateful stuff. So I am calling a stop to it all for at least a year. Yes,
a whole year. Because I don't even want to hear it after Nov.

Mitt is a sorry excuse for a Presidential candidate. "I don't worry
about the poor people, they have a safety net" Sorry Mitt but I
haven't seen that safety net for all poor people. "I can't
worry about that, (it was a question of national concern that the reporter
asked) I have a campaign to run here, I can't be bothered with that".
I saw him actually say those words. He cozy's up with the NRA, yet
as Governor of the most gun restricting state of the nation, he did
nothing to change things.. in fact he sign into law, a ban on certain
guns. Which personally I was glad he did, but the NRA, protested it
it venomly, at the time. So why do they think he will stand up for them
now? There are other things about Mitt, that he just isn't it for me.
Even a lot of my Republican friends don't like him, but will support
him because they rather do a bad Republican than a good man. And
if Mitt is the only offer the Republicans have.. well they are in sad place.
And we who vote down the middle... leaves wanting.

Obama, they say he hasn't lived up to all of his promises. And there
are a few that he didn't... like line voting instead of the piggyback bills.
transparent government, get rid of lobbyist... just for a few things he
didn't do.

But he did do a lot of things he said he would try to do. One
of course is the Healthcare bill that the Clinton's tried to get something
like it passed. While there is a few things there, I don't agree, there is a
lot I do agree with it. The worse one would be the mandatory or you will
be fined. If you can't afford insurance, how are you going to pay a fine?
Some of it, I thought should have been put in force right away, before
the insurance companies could raise their premiums like they
have.
The good is that everyone who was sick before can get insurance. Adult
children can be put under their parents insurance until they are 26 is good.

He said he would get out of Iraq, and he is doing that.. (he did not say he
would get out of all the places, like the Republican try to tell us. I listen to
him say Iraq. They didn't listen. But he is trying to get out of Afghanistan.

He said he would step up to the plate for the gay people, he has. Maybe not
as much as they would like.. but he did step up.

He tried to get a handle on the economy. Which was a lot worse than
he knew before he got elected. I wonder what McCain would
have done differently? Of course, Obama had one strike when he

went in with the Republican party congress. I thought when it

was evenly divided with a couple of Independent
we might have a Congress that would work for the country. That was a joke.
When you have one party whose only purpose is to work against the President, even stating such on
television..(I don't care which party is in) and that is all they can talk
about. Then that is when those Congressmen should be given the door. You are
NOT there to serve your party.. you are there to serve the country.. But why
did I think that might be? The Congress has gotten worse with each election.

So I give up.. You see I think Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama are two pretty decent men. I don't believe either one of them would try to do harm to the Country. If they can leave their parties behind, they might even do good. So I have gotten
to the point of Brett from Gone with the Wind... quite frankly, I don't give a damn.

I still think the President is pretty powerless. It is Congress that gets us into
so much trouble. It is Congress who screws us over and over, while not biding
by the same rules we have to live by. Who ever gave them full power over
Congress is beyond me. What other job can you vote yourself a raise.. and even
set it up, if Congress isn't in session, it is an automatic raise. Who else can vote
themselves their own bennies, yet they can cut ours?

What I wish we could know before they get voted in.. who are they going to have in their cabinet? While Clinton turn out to be far better than I thought she would, there are others I didn't like..

But what I would like, and what is.. is two different things.. and I have lived long enough (maybe too long) to know what I do or say, isn't going to mean anything at all. I vote for my own justification. I vote so I have bitching rights. So i will vote
in Nov. I just don't want to hear all the b.s. in between now and then.

I have a wonderful summer coming up. Today was great with sunshine. I much
rather spend it worrying about my tomatoes coming ripe, my cabbage growing with out worms. Can I get the fence up this summer? How many bags of rocks
do I need to finish off my garden project? I want to bask in the sun with my cup
of coffee or my glass of ice coffee (it is a New England thing). I sure don't want to
waste it on the garage that the powerful millionaires waste their money on for ads.

So no more news about election, tv's can be turn off or channels changed.
No more hateful emails to me please. Because.. I. DON'T. CARE. ANYMORE.
Got better things to do with my time. When you get to be 72.. time
is precious. And I am spending mine doing what pleases me.

And if you decide to leave hateful comments here.. know I will delete them.

This dang primary...election..

Well, today, I have to walk
into a building.. and it angers me that I am
forced to say I am something
I am not. For it I don't, I don't get to vote.

I have taken pride over the
years of voting for whom I thought would
try to do the best job.
Never having to claim any party.. yet because I
live in a flaming red state,
that made it a law last year.. I have to proclaim,
I am something that I am
not. A Republican. I am not... a
Democrat either.
I am not there to lopside
the election for November. I am there to see if I
can lend a hand to have some
good voting choices.

In the old days, there was a
Democrat and a Republican ticket. Well, there
was a few other ones but
those scare me. Heck, now they all
scare me.
But I never went to vote to
make it easier for the other party ... I just want
some what I deem to be good
honest people to run and not some radical
who says they belong to the
Republican party.

See in Idaho we have about 4
or 5 different kinds of Republicans.
There is the good old ones.. and there is the Reagan Republican, the
right wing conservative Republicans, and then there is the mid Republicans and
lastly but far from last.. the TEA party Republicans. What the heck is the
difference I don't know.. I wonder if they do. But they are so paranoid, they
have outlawed us, who have no party, so we can't vote. UNLESS we admit we are
Republican (thankfully we don't have to say which one).

So I will head down today,
and sign a paper claiming to be a Republican.
I want
to write ... only for
today... but was told that is illegal...
So I figure I would go in,
and lie, just so I can vote. And then
after I leave the building, I will be a Catholic while I am at it... and say.
FORGIVE ME FATHER, FOR I HAVE SINNED... and then tell my self I have to do 10
Hail Mary's. Just
to get the taste out of my
mind.

I don't know who Charlie Reese is.. guess I live under a rock.. only know he was a columnist because this says he was.
This email came to me over the weekend.. it had a tax poem which I had seen before,but
this is the first time I have read about the Congress part..
And those of you, who know me well.. I have told you this... over and over and over.. I called it Politic 101...
I even wrote about it in my blog years ago... where I don't have a lot of thought of the President, (no matter which one you talk about) because the President doesn't hold the power... so much.. but Congress does..
As I have told you over and over.. President sends something to Congress.. Congress decides.. if they like it or not.
They send it forward if they do... if they don't.. they send it to committee.. and committee it to death.. until it is throw to the floor.. or if they hate the President, they send it to the floor anyway.. until they will get blame for it, so then they will committee it... and then it is dead...

Now Congress has and can... make up anything they like.. then vote on it.. and if they get enough fools to vote for it.. it goes to the President... Now he can sign it..if he likes it ...OR he can veto it.. but that does not kill it.. because it goes BACK TO CONGRESS.. they get 66 2/3
of their fellow mates... to OVER RIDE THE VETO.. and you and I live with the disaster they came up with..
That is politics 101....

545 vs. 300,000,000 People-By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House now? He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ...
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!
