YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME...

A grandson who was taking care of his 86-year-old grandmother called for help in El Reno, Oklahoma. There was some discussion about whether she took her pills or not, he wanted medical help… what he got was 10 El Reno Oklahoma police officers. With no common sense… who decided to taser the man’s grandmother..
When you call 911, you get the fire dept. police dept and medical dept. in most cities…..but why 10 police officers, is beyond me. The 911 dispatcher must have been told what the problem was, so why did they send 10…10 police officers.

Because she ordered the police out of the house, they felt she was aggressive.
Aggressive??? In a hospital bed, connected to oxygen, 86 years old? When the order for tasering, the grandson tried to stop them and he was thrown down, handcuffed and thrown in the police car. . (sounds like Spokane)
.
The police reported that the elderly woman was holding a knife when they entered her bedroom. She was supposed to have said to him, “If you try and get the knife I will stab you and kill you. I killed four Japs in World War II, and I would not bat an eye killing you.”
The officer also wrote that elderly woman said “she was going to kill every officer that was in her apartment when she got out… she told them, she was going to snap their neck like a twig just like she did during World War II.” As you can imagine, the officers were terrified.

Terrified? Terrified?? 10 flaming police officers who could have surrounded her bed….Terrified??? Give me a flaming break… there were 10 of them, only her, by this time, who happen to be connected to oxygen. She is 86 years old confined to a hospital type bed !!!! And to subdue her, with the taser …one of the finest stepped on her oxygen tube until she started to gasp for air. They tasered her in the left upper chest… and left a burnt mark on her and left her bleeding..… It is a wonder she didn’t have a flaming heart attack…
She was confined to a psych ward for a week.

They say there are two sides to every story… but I got to ask… how could this be improved for the police officers… Even if she had a knife (the police said she did, her grandson said no) what kind of knife…Can’t see the grandson giving Granny
a kitchen knife.. so I would guess a table knife. But even given them the benefit of the doubt… we are talking about 10 officers… 10 officers…. One little old lady in a hospital type bed… hooked up to oxygen…

El Reno, sounds like a small town, but I sure hope they have deep pockets because a lawyer will get ahold of this and have a field day… I can see them wheeling Granny in …in her bed with oxygen hooked up…. Police dept. and the town hall, might as well, start pulling the money out of the coffers…I just could not believe this…. You got to be kidding

I think the Sun is trying to kill me...

I know, I know, I was complaining before about all the rain.
And I am not really complaining about the sun, as I love it…
But, with that said…

I think it is killing me… Ever since last week went we started
with this wonderful weather… I have been out in the yard.
Out in the boat. Enjoying b-b-quing at night…

Today, I was out there, doing more yard work.. Weedwhacking
was done by my grandson today, when he stopped in…
So with the housework done early this morning and yard work
in the afternoon…. I am beat…

Then there is the flowers, blooming like crazy, old flowers to be
taken off, …….oh…so much to do and so little time… as I hear
more rain is coming… And I have a feeling I am going to be getting
out of bed feeling like a 90 year old…
BUT…I am loving it…

THAT'S. JUST. NOT. RIGHT !!

As you read last week, I got a speeding ticket. First one in
twenty years… And I was the good citizen and did not argue
with the police officer. In fact I was so nice, I knew he was
going to turn around to come back to get me. So I pulled over
and parked until he could catch up. And on the Monday, the day
after….. I wrote out the check and took it to the post office and
mailed it… I paid what the sheriff deputy wrote down on the ticket.
So good citizen, did not argue, did not run, and paid the next day.

Then comes Saturday mail, came two envelopes from the Bonner
County Clerk office. One saying thank you for the $75 but I have a
balance of $10. WHAT??? It said $75 and I paid $75.
The other envelope was a nice (?) little letter from some one from
the clerks office, telling me that the officer made a mistake. That the
price of a ticket for 15 miles over was $85 and would I please send
in the extra $10. So I made out another check (and another stamp)
and mailed it out to them today. You know, it just doesn’t seem fair.
After all, I didn’t set the price, the officer did. Now I had to pay more.
Some how…..THAT’S. JUST. NOT. RIGHT.

Enjoying the day....

We are heading out on a hot day..... our first boat ride of the year...for Misty and I. Leaving the dock, and enjoying the ride...

Misty isn't too sure about this... all that motor noise..

Found some of our friends on our trip around the islands.... so stopped in for
Misty to run and a visit.... then headed out to see more islands..

Saw this one the way back...don't have a clue what it is...
What a beautiful day, on the water, with such a great view.... this is why we love
living in Idaho...

Walking around the yard....

Yesterday was a beautiful day.... so started some more yard work... was hanging some of
my wind chimes, when I noticed the gutter was thick with gunk.... so shifted to cleaning
it out. After 3 hours of lifting the ladder up and off the deck several times,
running the hose thru the gutter...looking like a Dalmatian with so many black dots
on me..... I got it done..
Wash down everything, that got specked. I was beat... wet....dirty..... but a job
done well....

Well, when the King got home, and saw where I had thrown some of the gunk down
on the ground, he was not the happiest. I tried to convince him, that a moose had
ran thru... and left droppings, as I scared the moose so badly...
but he wasn't buying it. But he was happy with the clean gutters... "been
meaning to do that"...familiar words...lol...

Doesn't it look like it to you, that a moose or even a cow ran thru?

After hours of dealing with gunk, I decided to walk around the yard and see what
the rain has done to the yard work that was done a month ago...
and actually it was not bad at all...

My Blazing climbing rose that my #1 son and wife gave me years ago, is doing well.

The first section of clematis (there are 3 in all here) is doing well...

Bleeding heart is still hanging in there..

Peonies are doing well, here is the pink one..

The white one.....

with red inside the flower

Hosta is greening out well, flowers should be soon following...

Here is the other clematis starting to fill out...

The Irishes have filled out beautifully and are still in the time of blooms... I have
3 different purples around the yard...

as you can see this is the one with stripes.

The Red Peony

they are so beautiful

The front yard with flag and yard spinners... don't know if you can see the tractor.
in the middle... And hanging planters...

Now this was a surprise... I put out my fountain that no longer works but is a good
bird bath, and I put my metal bird near it so it would look like the bird was drinking
from the bath... and the next thing I know... Johnny Jump Ups, came and grew better
than if I had planted them there... I don't know why they are called that, except maybe
because they grow where ever they please... I called them violets, until someone told me
the errs of my ways... whatever... I love them..And this year they are all over the place.
Driveway, pond area, in and out of the flower garden areas....

As some of the Irishes are starting to fade, the roses are starting to kick in...

This is the front Irishes with white beards... I didn't take a picture of the ones
in the back yard by the pond, they are deep purple...

Coming in behind the Irishes, and with the roses, are the Tiger Lilies... getting their buds

So the colors keep coming on... and I am getting ready to head out and see what else
I can add to keep the color coming....
With Petunia's continuing their job in the pots hanging on the fence to greet those
who drive into the driveway...
Enjoy the day and the weekend... going out to play in the dirt....

No Win Situation...

Obama was put in a no win situation over this
McChrystal deal…..

If he fires him, he has thin skin… if he keeps him
then he is weak….

I am sure the media and the naysayers will have a field day
over this… just like over the 20 billion that Obama asked
for, not demanded… to cover for damages over the oil spill.

First they scream because he wasn’t emotional enough and
not doing enough… then they scream he was over stepping
his power…

All of which is a no win situation… But his choice he
did make… was a good one… and he handled it correctly.
And he did it with class, without putting down McChrystal.
And giving McChrystal his due for all the work he did accomplish.

Happy Meals Attack

The committee of who’s have attacked the
Happy Meal.

They say the kids will ask for Happy Meals
so they can get the toys. So therefore are
eating unhealthy foods.

It is all McDonald's fault, so there for they want
McDonald to take the toys out of the meals.

This is ridiculous! What is next… taking the
toy out of Cracker Jacks?

So I gave up blogging for this??

As most of you know, I gave up blogging last month.
for the summer and who knew how much beyond…

I was getting stagnate and also figured I would be outside
from the crack of dawn, with cup of coffee in hand to see
what the project of the day would take. Working in the
garden until the King came home and then cooking dinner.
So no time for thoughts and blogging…

Well, that has turn out to be a joke. What, we have had maybe
3 days of sunshine? I think I will end up with rivers instead of
flower beds.

So if you live in Bonner County Idaho, I am sorry I jinxed you.
So maybe I will try blogging again and see if this stops… because
I am tired of dragging my tail out of the bed in gloomy weather
at 6:30 am instead of jumping out of bed at 5am with joy. up to do it again.

NOT MY FINEST HOUR

You know how they say, not your finest hour?
Well, with me, it was not my finest weekend.

My first mistake was stepping over the line.
A line that is self imposed. I put up the line.
I think my kids will tell you, I don’t interfere in
my kid’s lives. I might think a lot, but I don’t
open my mouth. Even when asked, 99% of the time
I will tell them to talk to their spouse… So
WHY did I step over the line? Good question.
I can give the usual lame ones… but I can’t come
close with one that pleases me. I gave my honest and
most humble apology to all those involved.

My next mistake was… losing my patience while
driving…. And speed up to pass a car…. Hence,
a $75 lesson…. I was traveling behind a red truck.
The truck would vary from 40 to 45 mph. On a road,
I thought was 50 mph. After about 8 miles, I looked
passed. The car from the other side, coming towards
us, was way down the road. Plenty of time to pass.
So I hit it… and passed… plenty of time… then the
King, who was my passenger, said… that is a cop car
second one down. Sure enough, and he passed me, I
looked in the rear view mirror… he was slowing down.
So I pulled over, even before he turned around, as I knew
it was me he was looking at. Sure enough, he turned, turn
on his lights (I was already stopped) and came behind.
I was doing 65 as I passed, and 60 after I got straighten
out. He wrote it up as 60. Still 15 over…Stupid lost of
moment judgement… Expensive lesson.

The ironic part about this is… when we first turn on the
road, there was a car that rode my tail end for a mile
and then zoomed by us. Then he came up on another
car down the road and did the same… and the King and
I had said…. “Wow, where is a police, when you
need one”… So I guess the moral of the story is….. be careful
what you ask, as there can be one, where YOU are… sure
was for me…
Like I said, not my finest weekend…

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all the fathers, Dads, Step-Dads, and Grandfathers who step up to do it again.
