Well, the first day was the long and short….. hunting....

Well, the first day was the long and short….

The day started out at about 4:15am… You know like a kid

who is waiting for Santa to show up … and can’t sleep?

That is the grown man style of it.

He has been ready by Friday…  buzzing from one end of the house to the other .. in and out of the garage.. to the store for supplies.. buying like a kid given a $100 budget for a road trip… There was fried chicken, some chips, AND a bag of small candy bars.. which he isn’t suppose to eat..  And when I called him on it.. he said it was for energy..  WHAT?  There are energy bars for that… not M&M, SNICKERS, MARS BARS AND ETC.. like I said like a 8 year old with a $100 budget… He had a backpack full..  and then he couldn’t find his knitted hat.. Looked from stem to stern… Then said probably in the back pack… So I asked him if he looked to see and his reply was..  OH NO,  I can’t do that.. too much stuff in there .. lol..

By Friday evening everything was packed in the back seat of the truck.

Everything but the gun.. He would take that out in the morning..

And then there was the short of it.. He was back at about 12:30pm.  Soaked to the till..  While it was not raining when he left.. it was raining up in the hills.  And long and short of it.. ONE…. there is now a gate where the country road they have used for years. Seems the summer people had abused the land and the land owner refuse to have anyone there… so a gate.. Talk about long faces…  Second, the both were soaked to the bone, so gave it up. Figured the Elk were finding dryer sections too.

BUT there is the next day… Sunday…. With sprinkles instead of sheets of rain.
