You get in your car or maybe your pickup.
Out of town you go, to a country road. Up
one and then another, quietly, stealthily in
the early morning, or you might do it late in
the afternoon. Hoping the weather is not too
hot…
Always looking in your rearview mirror, hoping
no one is following you, even by accident. As you
don’t want any one to find your magic patch.
As you are looking for……….mushrooms, huckleberries,
blueberries, or dew berries… you fill in the word…
So how many of you have a secret patch for the item of
your choice. Have others found it as the years have gone
by. And have you overheard someone talk about the area
of their secret patch, only to find out it is the same as yours?

I have a friend who has blackberries planted all along her fence. She shares with me every year. In fact, I am going to make a blackberry cobbler this morning.
well, even though it aint a secret patch, in September down our lanes the hedgerows abound with blackberries... way to many to ever pick in my lifetime.... I spend hours upon hours picking them to use and to freeze for crumble and wine making over the winter months.... but, people nowadays except for a handful of em, cant be bothered to take the time to pick them - when shopping with a friend a few years ago she picked up some punnets of blackberries from the grocery shop, they were about $10 a tiny punnet and were imported from spain LOL... I asked her why she didnt go blackberry picking around the lanes come September and she said, nah Id rather just buy them all that fuss in picking....
nuff said.... these are the dumbarses that live in debt LOL... cos they have to keep up with the jones :)
