KK week was always a minomer for me. My two daughters Kristy and Kimberly - represented the acronymn on a local yokel level.
What was funny is the folks all wanted my ex and I to have another child, so we could have the KKK clan. Yep - it definitely had racist local undertones attached to it - regarding this particular 'community' joke.
But, seriously, it wasn't really a big secret. Everyone claims there are no racist attitudes up there - but that is a HUGE flat lie, but that's because folks like the lie.
Sad but true. Just ask some of the judges up there, what I was called for nearly 16 years. They did not care either.
