I
could not be prouder….
This past
weekend has been a whirlwind.
With the
passing of my son-in-law Tim, there was a project the King and grandson decided
to take on. It was the putting metal on the roof of my daughter’s house. It was one of Tim’s last wishes… He thought
it would be easier for her to get snow off of it..
When two of
our son’s who live on the coast, got wind of it.. they came …. By Friday early
am.. they were here. One with family..
So that gave us some time to visit with grandchildren as well.
Friday was
putting down paper on the roof… And rain came.. we were all bummed.. but by
Sat. morning it was only cloudy…and the race was on..And the sun appeared by
10am.. For about 12 hours, the King, the two son’s, and 2 grandson worked on
the roof. One of the grandson’s is a
roofer, so he was in charge. It was a great time for him, and to be the boss of
his grandfather AND two uncles who love to give him a bad time.. it was a
pleasure.
By 8pm..
with lights on screw drills.. they had finished all of one side.. and ¾ of the
other side.
Sunday, it
was doing the rest and the trim… by 11am. The job was done. With the exception of two trim pieces that
didn’t come with the rest of it.
They
cleaned up the yard into piles… (the King and I clean that up and took it to
the dump on Monday)…
By 1pm,
both son’s were on their way home.. Arriving
home late Sunday night.
It was a
great weekend.. everyone working together, laughter thru the air..
Sandwiches, Thai food, chicken the first
night, hamburgers the second night.. with biscuits and gravy for breakfast’s
thrown in by both house holds.. Ours and
my daughters. It truly was wonderful,
even if it was for a sad occasion.
I could not
be prouder of my family. Thanks boys..
all of you .. the 3 generations of you..
all working so well together.. I so
enjoyed your laughter… and MIKE .. job
well done…
