As many people are heading out
today for their first real 3 day holiday
for the summer season. I wonder how
many have chose to stay home. Not
to keep away from the crowd, but
because gas is hovering $3.50 a gallon.
The news last night ask people in the
nation, what was their cut off amount?
Surprisingly it was the average of $4.38.
That was a weird amount..38 cents.
Anyway the reporter mention that she
thought that would rise when the price
came closer.
Also people said they were going to
cut in other areas rather than give up
traveling. Like saving accounts, or other
things like boats, skiing and etc. But it
seems that close to 30%, said this price
now has cut their travel plans a great deal.
Which makes you wonder...will traveling
become a social divider. Those with money,
will travel, either by air or car. Those without
extra money, living pay day to pay day, will
be staying home and only go with in 40 miles
of their homes.
Some how this seems sad. Airlines brought
travel for those with limit time but money for
tickets. Those with more time, made trips
across the nation and that is why we have
motels. There were cabins or relatives that
people stayed with. Now hardly anyone travels
by car, not because of time restrictions but gas.
So the answers will change."Where did you go on
your vacation?" "I stayed home. Did upkeep on the
place." Oh, well, time away from your job is still
nice. Waking up in the morning and knowing you
don't have to go to work. But this has to work against
the travel associated companies.
Now matter what you do... enjoy the time off...
